Getting My Yogi Back
Weeks 3 & 4 - As You Like It
I'm a third of the way through my 100-day "Getting My Yogi Back" personal journey and finding how much the practice of yoga is both a discipline and an essential element to relaxation, to connecting on a deeper level with me, with my body, my mind and spirit. Of course, I've "known" that since I began doing yoga almost 40 years ago, but these days I'm rediscovering the value in "the stretch" that yoga provides, especially when I go to a class and put myself to the test. There's a discovery process that's gone on (and is still going on) to fit yoga and meditation and the living of the yogic principles, in every day--how I utilize the technology to be a better person, to call myself out, to raise myself up, so I can raise others up. I haven't been perfect. No one ever is. It's about devotion, commitment and keeping up. These are precious days and I know some of you are upping your yoga practice, too -- so keep on keepin' on -- I know I will!
The yoga set I've been doing this past week is called "Reaching to Your Mental Richness and Spiritual Strength" from the manual Reaching Me in Me (Kundalini Yoga) by Yogi Bhajan, Harijot Kaur Khalsa & Gurucharan S. Khalsa. This set includes the exercise demonstrated to do "when you are really worrying and something is really bothering you."
