Holy Jalapeno!

Ay Chihuahua! For some, jalapenos are just too hot, even though they’re considered low on the scales of spicy. Here are a few facts that may warm you up to these precious peppers. Jalapenos contain capsaicin, which provides their hot flavor. This miracle ingredient is tied to the prevention of sinus conditions and headaches. As a general anti-inflammatory, it can help soothe arthritis. As a thermogenic agent in the body capsaicin increases metabolism, boosting immune function, helping burn excess fat and improving digestive efficiency.

For a great morning jump-start, blend a single jalapeno in 8-12 ounces of your favorite milk and enjoy. The milk will help soothe your throat as you drink. If jalapenos are just too hot for you, remove the seeds, start with a half portion or try the milder poblano chili. With all these benefits going for you, you’ll be hot stuff!
