I Am What I Am

A Day of Self Gratitude

Have you ever considered why you're here? Why you exist at this time and in this space? Have you ever realized what a tremendous blessing it is to get up every day, to inhale this delicious breath and to have the opportunity to walk among your fellow travelers? It doesn't last long, these days of roaming the earth, and you never know when you'll be moving on. So, why not celebrate the fact that you exist, that you are unique in all of history and in all of millennia to come? Why not look in the mirror and thank yourself for being you and vow to do the best you can to live up to the highest version of you?

Dwelling in a state of gratitude is like the lotus flower -- though your roots are planted deep down in the mud, you float on the water in a state of radiance and calm. It is so easy to dwell on what can be seen as wrong, hurtful or cruel in this world, and there is no denying that the shadow side is at work all around us, but how will that ever change if you don't change? Do the work to bring yourself into a state of harmony. When your cup is full, it will naturally flow over, drenching all of those you encounter with love, light and a willingness to transform their lives. You are precious. Never forget it. Never take one breath for granted. It's a gift. You are a gift. You are born to share that gift -- generously and with unbounded joy.
