Feeling the Love

Connecting Heart and Soul

Valentine’s Day brings expectations of romance. The heart is associated with romantic love and we are smitten with everything related to the heart! Remember that the origins of this day also reflect a spiritual energy. The ancient yogis taught that the fourth (“heart”) chakra resonated with our emotions, ideas and inspirations and they also believed that the soul resides in the heart center. The link between the heart and the soul still resides in our cultural memories.

So why not take a little time on this day devoted to Love to send yourself some heart energy? Breathe deeply into your heart center, do aerobic exercises to strengthen your heart muscle and practice a heart-centered yoga set and meditation. Eat heart-healthy foods and open your heart to all the love that is around you today and every day.
