With 2010 behind us, it's time for a fresh start – and the planets agree. The blast of Capricorn energy that dominates the month of January means one thing – it’s time to plan and get organized. Capricorn encourages us to put aside the past, eliminate habits in our lives that no longer serve us, and set goals to accomplish over the course of the New Year.

The first week in January is dominated by Venus, finishing up her transit through Scorpio, the planet of the underworld. Romantic relations will be a bit more intense– for better or for worse. Make the most of this powerful Scorpio energy by facing difficult issues and getting at the core of what really matters in your romantic life. Plant a seed for the future – especially during mid-week (January 4 and 5) at the New Moon.

The mood is a bit lighter in the romance department starting January 9 when Venus moves into Sagittarius, and then again around January 16 when Mars enters into Aquarius. The net result of these two planetary shifts is that you may be craving more independence in your partnerships and in your friendships.

After the Sun moves into Aquarius on January 21, we enter a four-week solar transit. Unexpected events are likely to disturb the status quo....so let the old ways crumble! The harder you try to hold on to the old, the harder it will be to embrace the new.

January draws to a close with the feeling that it is time to push the boundaries –in your job, with your family or social group. Express yourself in a new way. Show off your individuality. Bring out your rebellious side and let your true nature come shining through. Doing so will bring you one step closer to your destiny.
