Blue on Blue

The Color of Calm

Don’t be blue…get some blue “therapy.” For cooling and calming, the color blue evokes the soothing feeling of waves lapping on the shore or the gentle sound of a water fountain. Blue soothes the mind; being bathed in a soft blue light can promote peace and relaxation. Blue enhances your intuition, devotion and sincerity and is used to treat conditions ranging from baldness to whooping cough. Blue is associated with the throat chakra, with communication, truth and learning.

Wear blue clothing or jewelry to feel more collected and centered. Blue gemstones calm your emotions and turquoise blue promotes healing. Avoid decorating your bedroom from top to bottom in blue or driving a blue car with a blue interior, as too much of this color can make you feel tired or even depressed. (Add some white accents and keep the blue color saturation lighter to raise the energy up.) Use blue wisely in your life—it will keep you from “singing the blues.”
