Lie Down Power Up

Ten Minutes to Greatness

You’re a valuable person at home and in the workplace. Others depend on you. There are times when the responsibility seems like it’s too much. Some days, often after eating lunch, it feels like your body won’t get with the program. Your mind is foggy and your energy flagging. The most prevalent solution to this conundrum is coffee or cola. But that answer overlooks one very important person in your life: You!

A much better option is a short, but sweet, nap. When you get that groggy feeling, take a break, go outside and find a patch of grass, or just clear some space at your desk for you to lay your head down. Set a timer to count off 10-11 minutes. Let your breath be relaxed and allow yourself to drift off. The effect is amazing. You’ll awake dazzling and refreshed, ready to take on all comers. Feeling well-rested actually increases productivity, so that you’ll more than make up for the few minutes spent in caring for your body. Try it! You’ll see why they call it a “power nap!”

Did this very thing this afternoon. Was too tired to be productive so gave into a cat nap in the sun. Ten or fifteen minutes left me feeling revived and ready to go again. A great way to get my vit. D.
