The Philosopher's Stone

Ask Your Heart

Even before the Middle Ages, alchemists were often obsessed with finding the Philosopher’s Stone. The legend held it was a natural element yet to be discovered that could turn lead into gold. Even among the alchemists, however, there were those who thought this interpretation of the legend was too literal.

The philosopher’s stone, in many esoteric teachings, is associated with the energy of the heart chakra, also called the balance point of heaven and earth. They say this energy center in the body gives off a faint green light, not unlike an alchemist’s chemical fire, and that the true transformation that takes place is within an individual’s perceptions. It’s easy to see. Simply imagine this green flame at your sternum the next time you are making a decision. Whichever option stokes that fire: follow that course. By tuning into the guidance within your heart, you ignite the best and most prosperous part of yourself, turning you and everything you touch into gold.

I always enjoy Yogamint, but this one is particularly lovely! Thanks! I'll try to remember that green flame!
