The Tithe Goes Out

Giving is Natural

What you give, you receive. It’s a tried and true saying that has stood the test of time. Tithing most often means dropping a dollar or two in the collection plate at church, but it goes way beyond this custom. Tithing is a cosmic law. By giving you acknowledge that your efforts are only made possible through grace. The money earned from those efforts is therefore, in a sense, borrowed. Returning 10% of whatever you earn to a higher purpose is a way of sowing gratitude and prosperity back into the soil, of asking grace to provide for all.

The two most important elements of tithing are to donate to causes that serve to elevate humanity and to give without any expectation of personal gain. Choose a cause that moves you and if you can’t give a full 10%, start at 1% and work up. What you can expect is a resonant feeling of commitment to the creation of a more peaceful and compassionate world. And that is priceless.
