Root for Yourself
Lock Into Your Core Identity

Wherever you are, in public or in private, in whatever social setting, you always have one of the most important and powerful yogic exercises available to you. It’s simple, silent, and can be done incognito, and the benefits are plentiful.
Try it! Simply engage the muscles around the sphincter of the anus then add those connected to the sex organ (pretend to stop yourself from using the bathroom). Finally, draw the navel back toward the spine. These three “locks,” or bhandas, when pulled together form “root lock,” or mulbhand. Pulling this lock engages the lower three chakras and begins to balance their energies. Practicing this lock over time helps provides clarity, self-assurance, creativity, improved digestion and greater core strength. You can use this tool as an instant check-in to help you get in touch with the root of any issue. You’ll build the strength to move through the blockages and “lock in” aspects of yourself you like. So go ahead! Squeeze a few in today!
