Sing a Happy Song

Carols Every Day

Everyone has their favorite songs. You sing them when you want a lift or need catharsis. Sometimes it surprises you when it comes up on shuffle or on the radio. In those moments of unadulterated joy, you are actually doing a form of yoga.

There are two basic locations on the yogic anatomy that you work when you sing. First is the Throat Chakra, the center of your will, the place where heaven and earth meet in your words. Next time you find yourself singing, concentrate on maintaining a clear current of energy through the throat area. It helps if you concentrate on your navel and heart as you project. Singing also works on your aura, the electromagnetic field surrounding your body. You quite literally attune yourself to a single frequency, which allow you to be clear and secure in your own space. So belt out a tune! Serenade your best, most beautiful self, and it’ll sing for you when you least expect it.
