Learn to Digest More Easily

Food is amazing. So its no wonder that, every once in a while, we have a little too much. When that happens (as it often does around the holidays), there’s a simple way to aid your system in working through that over-stuffed feeling.

It’s a simple posture called Rock Pose, because it is said to give you the ability to digest rocks. Simply kneel on the floor, perching your buttocks on top of the heels. Legs can be apart or together, but see if you can’t fit the heels right into the little notch at the top end of your femur, just under your buttocks. There’s an acupressure point there that induces calm and engages digestion. Sit up tall and breathe deeply, consciously drawing the breath down into the digestive areas. Try it for three minutes a day, while you watch TV. It’s a great present for your tummy!
