Be Specific

Clarify for Contentment

The Buddha's second teaching is that the root of suffering is desire. In other words, it's perfectly natural to want things in life, whether wealth, partnership, children or self-expression. The question then, as you cultivate a meditative mind, is not how to stop desiring, but how to want the best things for yourself.

One great way both to determine when you are on the right track and to facilitate the accomplishments you have in mind is to get clear on the details. This doesn't mean "sweating the small stuff." Instead, gather your mental capacities and see how far you can stretch yourself in envisioning your happiness and contentment. You'll see the details that are concurrent with your vision will stoke your imagination and those things that aren't aligned to your fulfillment will either provoke negative emotions or won't appear at all! Allow clarity and contentment to find a home within you now, and there will be nothing you want to do that you can't.

Due to ill health i have decided today to resign from my stressful job and I'm hoping to have a happy and fulfilling life by removing all negative energy from my life. The words of wisdom above will hopefully serve as a daily reminder for me to slow down and do things I enjoy, to relax, start a family & look at staring a business from home. Thank you.

I feel healed of an insane state of mind through yoga, tai chi and meditation.

Just a comment actually; you will never remove "all negative energy" from your life; you can only build yourself so that you meet life's challenges with strength, grace and wisdom. Challenges will come and negativity arises because we know we could have handled them better, yet we can't handle life better because we don't have inner resources. Yoga builds inner resources, particularly raj yoga (which is what kundalini yoga is) so that you can forgive yourself. This is the end of negativity.....sat nam. Har Hari Kaur
